Bought this for testing load times of PS4 games on my PS5 & while it's considerably quicker than a mechanical HDD it's on par with the T5 or a SATA SSD used with a USB 3.0 adapter (probably due to decompression). Where I did see gains was while transferring PS5 games to the T7 with it being upto 15% faster than other SSDs. So if you're looking to reduce load times of your PS4 games on either PS4 or PS5 I'd recommend the Samsung T5 or a SATA SSD with a decent USB 3.0 adapter (I was using the Sarbrent SATA to USB 3.0 adapter EC-SSHD). If you're going to be transferring a lot of PS5 games to your portable storage then the Samsung T7 may be worth the extra $$.

I needed something as computers these days have no hard drive space. This is easily attached to the computer, takes up little space, copies quickly and has no moving parts. The only issue is if it is stolen but then that would apply to a whole computer. It would not work first up but that was because it needed to be formatted. It is a little overpriced.
