Poor description for which model camera's it will work with. I have an A7Riii, No screw type "A" mount auto focus lenses are supported, This is also applicable for all earlier generation camera models both 7 series and 6000 series. It is hard to find this information out prior to purchase and trial. Do your research. I do not believe it is faulty, just not supported by my camera. I can only hope for a camera firmware update.
