Microphone works great, is sturdy and has a great sound. It's not the genuine SM58, but I've not come across anyone who can tell the difference yet.

I've been using the Shure SM58 for years, and it's a fantastic workhorse microphone for live vocals. The questionnaire asked if it is lightweight. It definitely isn't, and that's what makes this mike so rugged and durable. Long may it live (and it will).

There is no dispute that this mike is one of the well known industry standards. It would be fair to say however, that it would always be wise to try other mikes either from the same range or different manufacturers. In other words one size does not fit all. Everyone has a different quality in their voice which can only be complimented by finding a microphone most suited to achieve the best result. The Shure SM58 is still a great starting point if you are unsure what to get. My opinion only.

If you have been using cheap microphone let think why this expensive microphone still can sell, it would be something that you will not get from the cheap microphone. What I find is I really like my own voice more when I am using this Shure SM58.

I mainly use the microphone to record my own singing. I bought this microphone after reading information and reviews. I have compared the singing results from this microphone and my other microphones. As a result of the comparison, I prefer the over-ear gaming HyperX Cloud 2 headphones which has a microphone attached to it to record my singing, because when compared with Shure SM58, result from these headphones is a bit clearer and not so, say, muffled.
