The light is a great feature enables you to see all the dust. Like the built in crevice tool and also easy to empty. Only downside is it on the heavier side.

The soft head left visible scratches on my (new) dark hardwood floors and was otherwise 'clacky' and unpleasant to use, I found the lack of ability to control the suction (only auto mode available) annoying, the motor head kept stopping on a thinner rug, and emptying was messy and awkward. Dyson's lack of concern regarding these issues (particularly the scratching of the floors) was notably poor, to the point that I'll never buy another Dyson product again, despite being up until now a long-term customer. I have returned my machine under eBay's return policy as Dyson was unwilling to honour their own return policy directly when not purchased from their website.

Love my Dyson Gen5. My 12 year old thinks it’s an alien space weapon. He likes to vacuum now thanks to the machine. It was shocking to see the amount of hidden dust from my carpet. A little heavy and the shaft gets scratch marks easily. Other than that it’s high quality. I would recommend 💯.

Absolutely love my Dyson. A great product. I don't have to drag a conventional vacuum around and plug it in to an electrical outlet. Nice and portable

Chose the Gen5Detect to downsize from a Cinetic Big Ball Animal to use in a 2br apartment with a pet is just right, and helps save the corners and corridors.. Having also had an earlier DC44, this one is larger and heavier but still manageable, the design improvements in manuvurability, having the crevice tool embedded in the tubes is smart, generally quieter running makes it worthwhile to upgrade to.
