Good quality book with lots of colour photographs. Lots of terms used without them being defined first. If a novice wants to learn about this topic, it does not help to launch into pages of explanations that use terms that the industry might be quite familiar with, but not the newcomer. For example, "swarming" turns out to be the act of bees actually leaving the hive. I thought the word swarm represented a collection of bees. There are many more terms used that do not even get defined in the Glossary. Not the best way to learn for the rank beginner.

Excellent resource on Australian bee keeping from starting through to global diseases, and hive construction in between. Well worth the $40 expenditure and to keep if the colony goes pear-shaped down the track in trying to fix it. Cheers.....mike
