I've been thinking of buying a digital piano for a while, and after a fair bit of research recently of the range of options available in the "beginner" price range I decided on the Alesis Prestige Artist. I'm so glad I did. For the money it has everything I could want, full 88 keys, graded hammer action, plenty of different voices and features, great tones and even a proper sustain pedal. Very quick to set up and perfect for me as, effectively a beginner returning to the piano after a break of around 30 years. I can definitely recommend the Prestige Artist if you're in the market for a piano under $800. For me it has the feel of a real acoustic piano with the added bonus of convenient size and many different sounds if you want them.
