If you have a cherry tree, and do all the netting, pruning, and other care taking things to get a crop, you pick that crop and.... if you have a fully grown tree, you probably can't eat it all. So you want to preserve the harvest. That's where this thing has been a FANTASTIC investment. If you're getting 5-15Kg of cherries per day for a couple of weeks... pitting really does become "the pits". Knives can work but I've injured myself... some use 1/4 or 1/8th teaspoon measurement spoons (known as a "Tad" or "Dash"), but that doesn't always work, some use a "mash and strain" method, but that often leaves seeds in there.... This pitter makes pitting so much easier. I ordered two so my partner and I can pit while watching our favourite shows, and we can pit 3-4Kg per hour each. It just works so much better than the alternatives, I'm never going back to the aforementioned "improvised techniques". I'm sorry, I'd add photos, but our crop has just finished. Read full review

It looked like it's well made but the plunger is'nt in the centre of the hole it pushes the stone/seed out through but it still works ok.It did'nt like large olives but i don't have them as much as the smaller green/black ones and it's good on cherries. Also the bit that's meant to lock it shut when not in use does'nt work that good and pops open at the slightest bump.........

very strong and well made. one handed operation that I used for an hour and half without any problems.would recommend this for any size or type of olives. pops the pit out perfectly leaving a whole olive behind everytime.

We got this product for cherries , and it does a great job of removing the seeds. It sounds a little dramatic, like it takes a lot of hand strength to use (my ham of a 3 year old covers their ears because it's so "loud"), but it's just metal bits touching and actually is very easy to use.

Great product. Very easy and robust to use. Much easier than the one we bought in 1970.. Better on the cherries and easier on the fingers. Could be inproved by a slot in the bowl for the stems to go through befor pipp removal. (Like the old ones had!!)
