Quiet and well balanced, but using it as clippers which I bought it for the combe is razor sharp and catches on your skin and if you have a 'blemish' on your head trust me it will be bleeding profusely after cutting with these. Of course is a very close cut due to this, but got to say I am pretty dissapointed with that - would rathe my hair be 0.001mm higher.
