Battery in mine died after only 3 years of casual use. Couldn't change the battery because its a sealed unit had to purchase a whole new remote at around $50, then had to call a technician for $110 because it cant be programmed by average person. What a joke Ness, pathetic product.

To replace the battery gently pry the joint between the covers and the unit opens up exposing the battery Replace same. No need for reprogramming a new remote Reprogramming a new remote control is similarly as easy once you have the instruction manual
