A good pencil for beginners and professionals
I love these pencils, I've been using Crayola for a while, but I was always stunted with the 50 pack, but now there is double that, and I love it! They have a TON of really fantastic colors, particularly the oranges and purples, you can't match that with others like Faber-Castell or Prismacolor, although both have amazing color selections they are lacking in some colors, that is where Crayola comes in. They're really great as complimentary pieces. I find Crayola colors are vibrant, but they are a muted vibrant, they aren't pure colors, they are greyed, but it creates amazing colors, that can't be matched. It's small, but I will also say I love how they were organized, MUCH better than any other company I have bought, which seem to just be jumbled together almost. The actual pencils are ... The actual pencils are good, they are soft, but not so soft they break, they last for AGES, I guess because they are a denser lead, but they last me 3 times as long as other brands that are more waxy and soft. It produces god coverage not too streaky or flaky. The only problem I guess I had was some of the colors, maybe 8, were the ugliest, brightest, most neon colors you've ever seen so they were absolutely worthless. Like not just for a professional artist, but for children, they're unusable, I don't know what they were thinking. It's only 8 of the 100 though, and that said I don't know of any color it is "missing", I can't think of anything I wish it had...Maybe a more rosy clay color. PERSONALLY if you are looking for a GOOD set of professional pencils, get yourself a big set of Prismacolors and then supplement with these, they fill in the gaps nicely. If you are just beginning or looking for a medium set or something, definitely get these, they are WELL worth the price (which is low anyway).
