But I can speak on previous purchase of the same item , as I have purchased a number of them over the years . The brand is Laser Set Top Box HD TV Media Player, for the price of $39.60 with 12 months warranty you can hardly go wrong , this is the first time I have have a problem but more than likely it will be me !!! doing something wrong , and the STB is usually delivered in 2/3 days .

    manual needs to be more detailed

    the unit seems to work OK but you need to be a tech nerd to set it up almost impossible. you can be trying to work through one task & all of a sudden some instruction will pop up saying "do so & so" no idea what it means or where to find the where the the tool to to the job is

    Not a good alternative

    Unable to program for recording. Control buttons confusing with differing applications. Box is so LIGHT the cords attaching dictate where it sits on shelf Handbook hard to understand When turned OFF on controller TV immediately loses its Programs

    LAZER set top boxes are EXCELLENT

    These LASER set top boxes work perfectly except when your dog decides to eat the remote! Very good product if you have an old TV like mine.
