    Grey's Anatomy is funny, sad and has dark undertones. It is not your average medical drama.

    I consider the first six seasons of Grey's Anatomy some of the best TV that I have ever watched. The early seasons are simply the best of this show, however that is not to say that the fifteen seasons that have been on TV since 2005 have not lost their appeal as the years have marched by. Grey's Anatomy certainly has had years where some of the episodes were not up to my standard in the writing department, but it is difficult to write for a TV show for so many years and keep it engaging and also relevant TV, that is important viewing. The writing in season six did lose some of it's spark, however times were difficult for the actors and crew behind the scenes at that time as that is when the show lost the character of Izzie Stevens when Katie Heigl left at quite short notice.
