Don't get stuck, get this stick
I started playing Elire Dangerous with my mouse and keyboard. Not the greatest way to play but doable. That said I figured maybe I should look for a stick to help me out in the fighting department. I cranked up Google and got slammed with so many styles and configurations and not least of all different price points. Some if these sticks go for upwards of a grand. Now don't get me wrong I like gadgets and buttons but to spend that much money to play a game that cost me 25 dollars jyst didn't make sense. I read up on all the sticks that were out there and then I got to this one. I saw that they were selling for around 50 dollars (much more reasonable) and that it had a lot of nice features and enough buttons to map as to make it much handier than just a mouse and keyboard ... Searching it out on ebay I found it brand new for 23 dollars! At this price even if it was lousy I at least didnt lose a few months of car payments in the processing. I received it very quickly and just as quickly popped it into an available USB port. Wow, immediately upon entering the game and taking off my flying felt incredibly fluid. I painstakingly went through the button mapping process and although the way the buttons on the base are in a somewhat tough position to get used to I eventually did. Now, for a fraction of the cost I am flying and fighting out there with the best ( well mayby not the best but for sure with the upper mediocre) and am gaving a great and fun time. I was doing so much better that the members in my wing took notice and I told them about this stick. Within 1 week we were all flying together with the same stick and are much better for it. Have fun!

Better than nothing
This is not a very good joystick. I’m glad this was not my first because if it was it may have deterred me from playing any flight sim. It is better than nothing so it’s not bad to have as a backup stick Incase your good one breaks and you still want to fly while you wait for a replacement.

great if you know how to use
Though it is easy to use, there is definitely a learning curve if you, like me, are not used to using flight sticks. With a traditional Xbox or playstation type controller I can start most games with confidence. I have been using these types for at least 13 years, thus I am adept at using them. I haven’t found an air combat sim that uses a joystick that doesn’t cost $50 or a tank game where you use the joystick. Like 15 years ago I played a tank combat game with an M1 tank. It was a great game the tank was easy to drive using the twist function. I haven’t been able to use it but I love the layout of this joystick with enough buttons to push to piss off anyone lol.
