    Totally absorbing.

    Brilliant. Tense and intriguing. Fine acting from Woody and Mathew. Great musical score. Very intelligent study of a partnership between two very different and determined characters working to solve a serial crime. A study in tenacity. I had to watch two episodes at a time. Only negative was that I would have liked more episodes. Can't wait for series two. Woody and Matthew have gone right up in my estimation.

    True Detective, truly superb!

    I bought True Detective based on the reviews it had received. I had never seen an episode or even heard of it before stumbling upon it in a search for another. I am glad I did! For me this was a pretty intense and riveting drama - and I loved it! The other half was as sold on the concept and only watched one and a half episodes, complaining there was no action. This is not a blow 'em up, shoot 'em up action drama, but rather a thought provoking thriller. Only 8 episodes in length and very much worth the watch.
