  • Maintaining Rage

The dismissal of an elected government by the Queen’s representative changed forever the parliamentary scene in this country. Whitlam was a visionary the likes of which the country had not seen before. In 1972. he dragged Australia into the modern era and would have achieved more if he had not had to deal with ministerial lack of experience, an opposition who defied ‘convention’ and plotted to destabilise his government and a rogue Governor General with delusions of grandeur. Whitlam’s words will forever resonate with his supporters. “We’ll May we say ‘God Save the Queen’ because nothing will save the Governor -General.” Like many Australians who saw Whitlam as a visionary I will always ‘Maintain my Rage’. A very informative bio-pic.
