    A most intriguing and enjoyable DVD

    Lots of mystery and intrique in this production with attention to every detail regarding location filming, costumes, sets and great acting. Set in the Court of King Louis X1V following the Court move from Paris to the newly built Palace of Versailles. King Louis X1V wants all of his courtiers under one roof so a certain amount of control can be imposed on them in this 'gilded cage'. Lots of plots and secrets with the inevitable punishment for the 'plotting nobles'. Well worth buying this DVD as it is a fascinating glimpse into a part of history that shines and glitters like no other.
