  • The Problem with Windows Live and Steam

    F1 2010 is a good game. I'm really enjoying it, and can hardly get my boyfriend to let go of the steering wheel. So what's the problem? This game is built for Games for Windows Live, which looks to me like it is no longer active. That meant that I had to spend most of a weekend trying to get this thing to work like it's supposed to. If it wasn't for online forums where gamers share information, I'd still be fighting it. My point is that games should be fun, not a hoop that you have to jump through to get it to work. The problem with Steam and Windows Live is that we, the consumer, are at the mercy of the company running the server. If they quit, we're sunk. We should have control, not the company. I know they need to have a decent return on investment to continue to make money, ...
