Originally published in 1971, The Education of a Tennis Player was updated in 2009 on the 40th anniversary of his historic second Grand Slam with new content, including his recovery from a near-fatal stroke in 1998. Bud Collins, the legendary tennis personality and historian, serves as the book's co-author.

    Maybe out of date but today's players can learn what real class is ab

    Well written book by the people (Laver & Collins) who really love the game. They were there at the beginning before the really big money as we see today. Laver show a lot class, that he can disagree with other individuals without belittle or self promote himself. An example of this was that he disliked Gonzales, but with time he come to appreciate his accomplishments too. He knew that tennis was still just a game and he was not above it.

    I bought this one as a companion to same authors Tennis Digest, this volume continues with the lessons from the previous volume, Nice addition to my tennis library,Written by International Tennis Pro.
