    Why so many exposed studs ?

    I am on my fourth cool convertible now, 2 have been given to grandkids, one in the lego room awaiting another grandson to take it and I have one I am trying to MOC to make it more real-car looking, that includes; - shortening the axes lengths to keep the wheels within the mudguards (road law) - installing an inertia motor - removing the folding canopy and rebuilding the boot, and more importantly (and I intend making the windscreen more inflexible) - getting rid of exposed studs especially on the upper surfaces - and whatever comes to mind as I go. At the price - it could have been more intelligently designed. I suspect it is over-technical and under-real.
