    Fast reliable 16 port gigabit switch for a home network

    I use this switch to run my home wired network. My home network runs at 52 megabit per second and this is more than capable or running it after the router including gaming machines.

    When a five or eight port switch just isn't enough.

    With far more devices on the network, this takes the simple switching tasks from the router and lets it do its job properly; DHCP, DNS and internet. It makes home automation easier by not maxing out the router.

    Easy to set up

    The switch was very easy to set-up (I guess all switches are). It is quite a bit larger than other switches so make sure you have the space for it.

    A bit on the large side

    The switch is solid and hopefully reliable, only time will tell. I think it is larger than it needs to be for a 16 port switch, not a problem for rack mounting but takes up quite a bit of room if using it as a desktop. It is too deep to fit in my wall cabinet and a right angled plug would help reduce the space required. Overall it appears solid and is good value for a metal cased switch.
