    So sad to say goodbye

    This was an interesting, enjoyable and at times exciting period drama about the Earl of Grantham and his family. It deals realistically with the problems facing so many of these owners of stately homes and their dwindling income. I had to laugh when the Earl mentioned a "chap in America named Ponzi who was promising %100 returns". Fortunately his heir vetoed it. The characters were so real to me it was like losing a family. I wonder how they would have fared in the coming Great Depression?

    True To Life!

    Loved the entire series of Downton Abbey; as it covers so many social issues, some being part of the time, most being just as relevant as today. Very engaging, interesting and entertaining, indeed.
