    A salute with pride.

The Kings speech is a fantastic movie. The huge reasonability thrust upon King George the 6th, with the huge danger of the war, coupled with the panic of not being able to speak properly, how that must have felt. To find someone to help and to follow through with the Royal Highness, to help him with every speech, was a miracle. The friendship that endured and lasted for the rest of their lives would be something to be treasured. I recommend this movie to everyone to watch, enjoy and to take from it, of what can be achieved with help and kindness.

  • Humanises the Royal Family

An excellent story with brilliant cast, except perhaps Lionel’s wife who came across as a bit “ocker”. The Royal Family was portrayed as very human and loving and relatively “normal”. Altogether a very enjoyable experience!

  • An historical story well played.

Colin Firth, Jennifer Ehle, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter each play their roles in exceptional fashion in this disclosure of the speech problems of the prince who became King George VI. I purchased this video because I was so impressed with the BBC serialization of Pride and Prejudice which featured Firth and Ehle.
