Dermot O'Neill's grandmother grew many old-fashioned roses and he recalls many hours as a boy in her garden surrounded by wonderful roses such as 'Madame Isaac Pereire', 'Cardinal de Richelieu' and 'William Lobb'. As one of Ireland's best-loved gardening personalities, Dermot's down-to-earth, colourful, easy-to-follow style brings the joy of gardening to a wide audience. He has been a regular contributor to Irish national television and radio since the early eighties and currently appears on Radio One's 'Today with Pat Kenny' every Friday. He is the editor of Garden Heaven magazine and gardening correspondent for the Sunday Independent.
