Very readable, scholarly book.
I wish I'd read this book when I was much younger. Like most children I was indoctrinated into Abrahamic/Judeo-Christian religion as a child by well-meaning, poorly educated parents. And I then did the same to my own kids, only adding Islam & Baha'i to the muddle, because I never encountered a book like this. Any self-respecting History teacher needs to read this; it should be required reading. Our species is prone to superstition & delusion so we're very lucky to have thinkers/philosophers who take the time to enlighten us.I wish I'd read this book when I was much younger. Thrilling reading! I really enjoyed this book. Christopher Hitchens is an amazing writer (and in my opinion a genius). He's very witty and doesn't pull any punches (like anything else he has written or spoken about).
