A good, low cost router that should work fine for years to come.

I purchased this unit to be a slave off of my Telstra supplied Smart Modem 2 and it has met and exceeded my expectations admirably. I needed a remote, wired LAN system that allow the gear I was using to access the internet with no fuss or weird settings and this box o lights did the trick perfectly as a bridge between the two networks. Data txfer speeds were good, particularly once a firmware update was done on the TP-Link Router. The unit has been functioning great since it was installed the day after it arrived here and it has never missed a beat. All in all, a good, low cost router that should work fine for years to come.

Couldn’t get it to connect wireless while connected to Ethernet

Instructions on manual is inaccurate for me trying to set up with Nbn. You need to click the wps on your router and then wps on this modem and hope that your device can pick up on the TP-Link wifi to then go through the configuration which the configuration is a hassle if the TpLink wifi signal disconnects as you have to reset it during configuration which logs you out and it’s just a headache. Also, I couldn’t get it to connect wirelessly with other devices like my phone while connected to Ethernet on the internet. It also makes the signal or your nbn router slower if other people have to connect to that wirelessly with you using Ethernet to this modem. After a week, I don’t use this product anymore. The 2 signal attena isn’t good enough. You guys need to search for a product that has 4 ...

  • Great for secondary point

I purchased this Router to extend the availability of my WiFi for the children to use upstairs as our old one broke. This is a very good WiFi Router that has allowed us to have good signal upstairs as well as downstairs. I was so impressed by how efficient and easy to use it was to set up. The price for brand new in Box is incredible. The upstairs now gets far better WiFi upstairs which is terrific for doing their studies and university workload.

  • Works great with the gargoyle firmware

I updated this router with the gargoyle firmware and I use it to set quotas so that our teenage kids don't use up all our data in the first week. I know using non tplink firmware voids the warranty and I am fine with that. Getting the gargoyle firmware installed is a bit tricky, but that is ok too. For $35 I've got a way to make sure each member of our household gets their fair share of internet access, and that stops a lot of aggravation.
