Over the course of 2-3 weeks, I battled two separate colonies that seemed to live in the roof (top floor of an old apartment building). I tried Ant-Rid Ant Baits (the round one) - ants barely touched it; Ant-Rid Liquid Ant Control - sticky mess that needed to be cleaned and replaced every day; and Talon Ant Killer Gel - ants liked this one but surfaces were left with residue that needed to be thoroughly cleaned. Finally received Ant-Rid Bait Strips in the mail and put it to work. Ants loved this stuff. I placed 3-4 baits around each windowsill and saw brown ants eating during the day, black ants eating at night. After a few days, the baits were consumed. I used this as an opportunity to set fresh baits and refill old ones with Talon ant gel. Not sure if my ants are special but they love it! We had major ant issues in our house and the other products on the market didn't seem to interest our ants. They just walked past other products with an air of contempt. As soon as I placed theses strips down they had an ant party - then they all died. Good result for me not so good for the ants. Our house is now ant free but I do feel sad, and slightly guilty, for all those dead ants.
