It's a very manoeuvrable agile Safety Razor, especially around the chin and neck area. At first I wasn't sure if the short stubby handle would suit me, as logically a long handle seemed to be better. But I found it an advantage when shaving my chin, moustache and neck as I could hold and manipulate it better. It felt like I was sculpting my face with it. I also noticed something I hadn't thought of before, that the head piece bends the Double Edge (DE) Blade when mounted so it's curved instead of sitting flat. There's a slight curve laterally. Even compared to my other long handle Schick Butterfly/Twist to Open (TTO) Classic (the same/similar to the Wilkinson Sword) each DE Blade seems to operate slightly better. A combination of the curved DE Blade and the short handle perhaps?

If I had my time again, I would have spent more and purchased the Merkur with the longer handle. I've come out of plastic razors and all have a longer handle which I'm used to using. So the 34C has a stubby handle and its taking a bit of getting used to.... First world problem :) Great razor!

not impressed, I got this to replace a much cheaper razor and cant tell the difference. the blade has to be centred by hand, the shape makes it next to impossible to shave under the nose and I have to resort to my disposable razor to get a decent shave. tried a couple of different blades as well as merkur blades didn't make any difference.
