This expansion adds a whole new dimension to Catan. The new rules take a little time to understand (I recommend you watch some YouTube reviews of Cities & Knights to understand how it works before getting stuck into the rule book). Those pesky barbarians can really stuff your game up - so you need to train knights almost instantly - or your special resources will dry up and you will effectively lose the game. The downside is that it doubles the game time. The upside is the game has greater highs and deeper lows. The other downside is that the expansion pretty much costs the same as the original game - which is annoying.
