So many Led Zeppelin compilations out there, which on to choose? Well if you a bit of a tragic like me, then you will probably buy all of the official and some non official releases including this (official) one. Prior to the release of Mothership, I would have rated Remasters as the best Led Zeppelin available, notwithstanding the sound quality and mixing left a bit to be desired. That is certainly not an issue with Mothership, where Jimmy Page had a hand in the remastering and the sound is wonderful. Two songs on Remasters that I would like to have seen included here are Battle for Evermore and Misty Mountain Hop. There are a couple for differences between the two compilations but to otherwise draw a comparison would be to quibble regarding those other tracks. All of the essential songs, other than the two I would like to have seen included, that any fan of Led Zeppelin have come to know and love are on this compilation. I rate it as essential to any collection, as it provides a good song choice spanning the band's career.Read full review
