A wonderful, balanced range of colours instead of the common sets where there are, for example, 7 almost identical yellows, only 2 reds, and no purples. Very little pressure is needed, so they're easy to use for protracted periods. The colours are rich and apply beautifully to paper. A high price, but it delivers a high-quality product.

These pencils are well worth the price. They lay down colour well and blend easily, all that you would expect from quality soft wax-based core pencils. The colours vary slightly from other Derwent sets, some colours have been replaced or renamed, so check and compare first if this is an issue for you. However, landscape artists will appreciate that this set retains Derwent's customary range of nature-based colours.
