I was sceptical of how much dust would actually be collected by the vacuum and was pleasantly surprised! I've been using 150 and 240 grit on the machine and I got very little detectible dust. About the only time is when I haven't run it long enough (10 secs or so) off of the wall or ceiling and there is some residual left in the collection plate! If you only need to do a small job such as screw holes from lifting sheets then the 180mm might be a little easier but I went for the 225 as I was sanding a large section where I'd needed to fill about 150mm and the size of the head gave me a good finish on a greater area to make sure there were no peaks or ridges. I was also smoothing out the lip around the screw holes before then plastering over them. Would recommend adding some 60 - 80 grit sheets to your order if you're a poor or first time DIYer with plaster like me as it would have saved me a little more time on the large section to be a little more aggressive on the over spread of plaster that I'd used. The Bunnings equivalent is a limited offer/short run so you'd be lucky to find one. This is around the same price and has the added advantage of a removable section so you can get right in to the corners. This was handy for me where the ceiling sheets met the cornice as when they lifted back up they pulled on the existing filler and tore along the joins (in hindsight I should have run a blade across the joint before lifting them!). The only down side is it can get a little heavy if you're using it for an extended period. I also made sure I didn't give it more than a 15 minute duty cycle before allowing it to cool down just in case.Read full review

My use of this wall sander has been for domestic refurbish of some rooms in my house. The unit worked well. It really rips the high spots off without digging in. Short story, I am getting a good smooth finish with little effort. That the unit is hand held actually (I think) helps. I did consider the variant that was on a pole but determined that that would just make it more difficult to handle. I think I was right in my decision. The unit is powerful; does not stall. The dust collection bag works well. There is some dust but most is collected by the bag. I do not use the bag over the shoulder; just leave it on the floor; it drags around ok. A goodly size bedroom wall takes about two minutes to sand off.

Item saves a lot of time and does a good job, I should of got one at the start of our reno's. Only thing that could be better is the hole in the bag could be a bit larger to make it easier to empty the dust out.
