These are great for honing a fine edge to my secateurs - and small enough to keep in my top pocket in the colder months (not sure if it will fall out without my warm jacket). I just use the medium & fine grades mostly - purple & red, 'cause the edge left by the super fine (blue) doesn't last me more then 10 cuts - and the coarse (black) would only be useful if I cut into a nail by accident to hack away a lot of metal to start another edge.
