I used this filter to replace a BioPro filter, and I can really notice the difference. For one, this filter is so much easier to prime. The pump is strong enough to draw water all the way into the inlet tubing, which is more than I can say for the BioPro model. This filter came with lots of customisable attachments, so I could alter it to suit the pattern of water flow I wanted. It also came with plenty of media. My only disappointment was that carbon wasn't included in the media. But carbon is cheap and easy to add.

I habe a 400lt tank with over 100 cichlids with a high end fluval internal filter. Both of them just keep up although I'm testing the laws of physics with overstocking. Suggest you purchase high end bio media, not the stuff that comes with it but thats ok too for a standard setup. Very quiet and easy to prime. Plenty of connectors to customise configuration.
