Very surprised with the Vibe 100 headset. I planned to use them just as bluetooth headphones and they have far exceeded their value for the price paid. So negatives first, I think the build quality is on the thin side things could be more substantial and thicker but one benefit the barebone build quality brings is the light weight which makes them very comfortable to wear. Next would probably be concerns from some negative reviews saying the headphones don't charge past 20%. Personally I did not update the firmware (just using what came out of the box) and always avoid updating firmware when it pops up on the app and the headphones have worked flawlessly. On to the positives. Wow the sound, out of the box the bass extends deep enough without any distortion and the overall sound was clear and enjoyable, way better than I expected for a budget headset. I have a few other bluetooth headphones and I just keep reaching for the Vibe 100's due to their surprisingly good sound. I made some adjustments with the EQ and once you figure what each slider is doing, I achieved even more slamming sub-bass and improved overall sound quality by scooping the first 2 sliders (put them 50% below 0) and then adjust the rest (mids and treble) below 0 to taste. Volume level is more than sufficient for me, even with the EQ scooping the volume is largely unaffected. I think some of my other BT headphones do get louder, so maybe it's worth noting. Comfort is top notch. The earpads are a "fabric" type but they are very smooth so don't cause me any irritation. the overall light weight means the barebones headband also does not cause any issues and does it's job just as well as any other headphones. Obviously battery-life is on the shorter side at around 20 hours of bluetooth listening to music, but I think it's good enough for the price and it charges quickly (I measured about 1 hour 45 mins full charge out of the box). I tend to charge my stuff once it hits 50% so that means it takes me only 1 hour to charge it to full. So far I only have to charge it once a week. Sorry for the long review but I think it was necessary to point out the details. Overall opinion is 5/5. Would I pay the full $180? probably no. but at the reduced price it definitely went beyond my expectations. I can recommend these as great sounding budget bluetooth headphones with one caution. Are you the type to just throw your headphones on the bed/couch after you are done listening? do you think you might leave them around for someone to accidentally sit on them? do you strongly pull the headphones far apart every time you put them on your head? well then you might want to look at a more toughly made pair of headphones.Read full review
