It is a non genuine brand battery but i knew that before purchasing the product and except for a look alike label cant tell the difference, in saying that i charged batteries when they arrived they fitted my charger and my tools no problems, I think big multinationals like makita need to market there own batteries along similar lines if they dont already and make there products more affordable to every body,

I charge the battery up the day I got it next day the battery lasted one hour the second one lasted two days It was hot on top and a burning smell. I was cutting pine wood 4 inch thick put making two cuts. The batteries stop check power no light lit up.

I normally have a 4hr battery and being a tradesman I find that 4hrs don't last long to run my tools for the day. So I was pleased to see that I could get a 9hr battery and am very happy that it lasts longer and I don't have to put it on charge while I am on the job. My battery was rated 6Ah but with testing found the real capacity to be only 2.5Ah. Only 44Wh from a 108 Wh battery. Considering the low price, I would have been happy with 4Ah, but 2.5Ah just isn't worth it. May as well buy the genuine Makita battery.
