This movie is sadly underrated- its in many ways better than its predecessor Conan the Barbarian and which is slow paced. Destroyer roars into action from the second the opening credits begin all the way till the end credits roll. So much good here: Schwarzenegger as Conan looks the part from the comics and art that inspired it! Malak the thief as comic relief provides some welcome laughs. Grace Jones as Zula is sizzling with sex appeal and genuine ferociousness. Wilt Chamberlain in his only film role towers over all including Arnold. Mako reprising as the wizard gets to show off his magic chops this time in a wizard duel. Olivia D’Abo as the princess shows why this film is family friendly - and welcome! Further props to Basil Pouledouris for the score it is perfect and matches the prehistoric fantasy setting - lots of wind and rhythm! It is beautifully shot and composed with lush forests snowy mountains and sun soaked deserts. The sound editing is particularly crisp which each sword clang resounding! I consider Conan the Destroyer my favourite film of all time. It has nearly unlimited replay value. Read full review

This film has more of the feel of the Conan novels than the first one but lacks the depth and wit. Conan really has nothing to say. Still it's entertaining enough. It's a pity they never ended up doing more or at least a third one.
