I bought this film simply because I am a massive fan of the work of the actor Tom Hiddleston. However, after watching the film, I began to enjoy it for so many more reasons. The film's plot revolves around Thor, young prince of Asgaard, and heir to his father Odin's throne. However, upon causing war with a past enemy, Thor is banished to Earth without his powers by his father. What follows is Thor's search for his symbol of power, his hammer, and humility, to regain his father's respect again and to prepare himself for inheriting the throne of Asgaard. This is a great film for fans of drama, humour, and action. The visuals are spectactular (Asgaard, and especially the Rainbow Bridge are visions of absolute beauty) and the acting is good.
