Quality little 600W inverter. Have not had a chance to test accuracy of max output and would love to put it on an oscilloscope to check pure sine wave. Used ours for lighting and power in a caravan and it performs very well. Quite operation. The fan doesn't engage unless the unit starts to heat up which is a function usually lacking from cheaper products. Quality aligator clips. Nice compact build.

Was up in the air which way to go regarding power in my 'soon to arrive' caravan. As a ham radio operator I knew that I was better to go with generating more battery power and using it with 12 volt devices. However, the issue came up when I looked at powering the charger(s) for my shaver, battery drill etc. I had already purchased a petrol generator that would run my caravan completely (AC, Microwave and still charge my 240aH lithium battery system). Running the generator, cost fuel and in most cases is looked at with destain in free camps, National Parks etc. My shaver requires 7 watts at 240 volts, and my AEG battery charger (for 18v Batteries) requires 144 watts at 240 volts. My first test was with the shaver charger, according to my Battery Monitor connected to my cars 100ah Lithium second battery: * With no load the Genpower 600 watt inverter drew 4 watts (or .3 amps) * Connecting shaver charger (rated 7 watts @ 240v ), meter indicated 11 watts (.83 amps @)13.3v) * Connecting AEG charger (rated draw 110 w @ 240v) it drew 116w (8.7 amps @ 13.3v) To charge, a discharged 6ah AEG battery, takes about 1.5 hours, so that would be about 174 watts from the battery. Cheaper than running the generator, no noise for any neighbours, and well within the 51ah that my solar panels can charge my caravan battery. I could use a smaller unit but opted for one that would supply AC for all the devices that I might need to charge at one time. PROS: Could not detect any inverter noise (audible). Cost effective, no need to run the generator). Small and fan only runs when needed. CONS: Best run in the open to allow for maximum cooling. The battery that this is connected to, needs to be charged at a greater rate than it is being discharged if being used in a limited supply system to maintain a supply. Documentation indicates that it is protected by a 40amp fuse (this appears to be a overload device, which means that if it cuts out then turn off the unit and restart it), the rated continuous load for this device is 600watts, if your battery is at 13 volts, 600 watts would draw 46 amps and should cause the fuse to trip. Would not recommend this device be used on a device that draws more than 500watts @ 240 volts. Overall this device suits me needs and I recommend it given the above statements. Neil Read full review

Bought this unit to be able to have capuccino on my boat. Very pleased with the result. It is compact and quiet on operation. Also there are quite a few appliances which draw 600 watts or less. The only negative is that I would have liked it to have mounting lugs to secure it on board. Another bonus is that it will power a soldering iron, very handy on the water. Just be aware that when you turn it on, there is a very slight delay before the 240 volts come through.

I needed it to run a TV and set top box in our caravan when power is unavailable and it works perfectly. A bit of interference when placed behind the TV but keep it a metre away and it is good. Only thing I have done is glue some feet on it to stop heat transfer to the bench top. Voltage and frequency are spot on.
