I researched a lot before buying this and a lot of "professional" toolroom type machinists suggest the Drill Doctor isn't very good. The supposedly better alternatives are much more expensive and hard to find in Australia. I bought this because it was reasonably priced and figured I'd make do until I won tatts and then buy a "better" machine. Straight away I sharpened a set of jobber drills and I decided that I liked it. I then moved to some of the bigger drills I have and it also worked fine. All in all I think I will probably never win tatts and buy a "better" drill sharpening machine.

Initial outlay is high, but over time it will pay for itself. If the price was a cheaper I would have given it a 5 star. Much quicker to sharpen a bit on the Drill Doctor than drive to the store for a new bit. 1st bit I sharpened just smoked on steel, a minute later on the Drill Doctor I was drilling holes in steel again.

Seems pricey compared to other models/ products out there. Once you get the hang of using it. Simple as, and the drills are bought back to as near new. Glad I spent the extra coin. Very impressed. Much quicker and accurate than touching up on the grinder.

I have a boxfull of blunt drills, played with the cheap drill sharpeners but found them too much bother. Then a mate showed me this one, which he uses all the time. The reviews were good, so I bought one. A bit expensive, but it's worth it. Good quality, easy to use, does the job just like it says. Now I use it all the time.
