The Beyerdynamic DT990 headphones are some of the best headphones available. They are over ear design with open back. This means that people around you can hear the sounds you are listening to. They are designed for home or studio use and do not fold away. They are very comfortable to wear. This model has an approximately 3m long coiled cable which is not changeable. Spare parts are available to repair these if that ever needs to be done. The headband is flexible padded metal and the headphone construction is good quality. The ear pads are soft velour. The best thing about these headphones is the sound, they are awesome. The sound is crisp and clear and balanced with bass extending way down without being muddy or distorted. If you close your eyes you can almost see the band standing on the stage in front of you. However If you like heavy bass then maybe you want a different set of phones than these, since these have a perfectly balanced sound. I bought them to watch movies and listen to music, they do a great job of that. Movies have a wide open sound stage when using these.Read full review

Perfect set of headphones for bedroom producers and those who want clarity in their mix on a budget. They won't give you the perfect flat response you'd get from a professional pair but they're close enough to allow for great sounding, clear and deep sounding productions if you're conscious of the response curve and work around it. Also great for listening to music and playing other media/games, they're extremely comfortable and won't hurt your ears even over the course of several hours of use.

Overall these are a nice pair of headphones. I have the 80ohm version and as far as comfort and looks go I think they're bloody great (though they do push the arms of my glasses against the side of my head which is painful after awhile). If I were just using them to listen to music at home I'd be very happy with them. My primary use for these is monitoring while I record as well as for mixing. Although they do a good job they do leak enough sound for a microphone to pick up which can be a problem. They also don't isolate very well so I find outside noise in busy environments to be extremely distracting. I've found that my mixes don't translate well from these. From everything I read before purchasing them I expected there to be an excess boost of the lower frequencies. However, when I play my mixes back on other speaker systems I've found that there is way more bass than I heard through these headphones. I guess I'll get used to this over time and learn to mix accordingly but in saying that I would most likely choose a different pair if I were to make my purchase again.Read full review
Lightweight compared to DT-1770. Using on Asus x299 motherboard, the Realtek control app detects impedance, and set Amplify level accordingly.

Beautiful to use - great for playing guitar through the amp which is what I use them for. Very comfortable and all round high quality headphones. Highly recommended!
