I unpacked it, it presented nice and new and pristine. I then selected the desired settings, connected it to batteries, connected it to the mains and it worked correctly. It may be some time before I give it a real workout. I have bought it as a backup charger for my off grid solar power supply. (Sorry I can't include pictures just now)

was delivered well packed and on time , however when i plugged it in it did not work ! my son who is an electrician opened it up and found that the fuse wire at the back of the fuse had not been soldered on properly and had come off .. an easy fix ,and works fine now, did not expect to fix the charger before using it ,

The charger actually charges up batters and does not tray to estimated if it should or should not charge the battery. (Smart Charges). It is also WELL MADE good and solid, NO PLASTIC , switches direct and of good quality and a good moving coil amp meter.Excellent heavy duty leads and alligator clips. It good to see some one s still making a good product.

The ammeter on this charger is wrong!! After purchasing another (matched) shunt and ammeter, we were able to prove this unit was only capable of outputting 15-20 Amps at best! Two seperate ammeters were used to confirm the low output. It appears either the face of the ammeter has been replaced with a higher reading face to make it look like a 40 Amp model, or a deliberate mismatch of shunt/meter to make it look like a higher reading on the dial. Even at only 12 Amp output, the unit overheats in under 10 minutes, and requires the cover to be removed and have a fan blow on it constantly to get any continuous use from it. The lugs connecting to the back of the switches are loose fitting, and one had come off in transit, requiring dismantling and repair before first use. This unit could suffice as a 10 Amp charger for a car battery perhaps, but is useless as a serious high power charger. It is NOT a smart 3 stage charger AT ALL!! It is a simple transformer/bridge rectifier. No filter capacitors, no control circuits. I figured for the price it wouldnt be a 3 stage (which I didnt require anyway), but I have seen it advertised as such, and it definitely is NOT!! Casing is robust and the only “good quality” part of it.Read full review

12/24v Rossi charger. Had some initial problems with the unit cutting out intermittently,(fuse intact), however with further use cut-out frequency decreased. Up to an hour at this point, so persevering?
