Limitations of a quality Mandoline
The protrusions on the the hand guard are rather long causing potential food wastage or temptation not to use the guard. I use the hand guard from another product. The protrusions allow for a closer shave so it is much more effective, while still guarding my hand. It is difficult to set the desired thickness reliably. It's guess work. There are no markings to indicate thickness. The Mandoline is made from quality plastic and does a great job cutting even slices. But the limitations mentioned above mean I am still looking for a Mandoline with an effective hand guard that has a reliable indicator for thickness.
