After viewing both of the earlier series 1 & 2 I knew what to expect. This is the final of the series rounding off an observation of human family behaviour. Not a comedy but you can find plenty here to make you smile but not what I would call a comedy. May even test your comfort level as some situations can really make you smile as well as others make you cringe. Real thought provoking stuff. Superbly written and the action by all cast is second to none. Unfortunately though the DVD producers as with the first two previous releases omitted to have subtitles added. A real shame in my opinion as some of the dialogue is lost and this is all about what is said not so much of ‘situation’. Brilliant. Every time I watch this I usually pick up on something previously missed or overlooked so I think that it would sustain repeat watching without losing anything, Intelligent, quality British ‘human observation’ of the family. I caught this show accidentally when it recorded after another programme, and fell in love with it. The characters are an engaging mix of horrible and lovely, and the main character (Mum), who everyone else puts upon, finally gets to do exactly what she wants at the end of the final episode. This is a series that stays with you, and makes you want to watch again and again.

Family dynamics very good. However, some of my friends didn't like it.
