As for all of the biolite product range, considerable thought has been put into the design, and it's obvious that the products have been thoroughly tested. My only real "beef" with this grill, is that the focus has been on making it as light as possible, when in reality, an item like this is highly unlikely to be used by the backpacking crew at all. Maybe for a base camp cooker, but not likely. This has resulted in a grill surface that is quite flimsy, and being stainless steel, it tends to stick to meat surfaces (not sausages so much), meaning that when you go to turn the meat, you need to have two utensils; one to hold the grill down (it is a loose fit) and one to lift the meat. The thin light grill also loses its heat almost immediately when the cold meat touches it, again, because the grill is so thin and light in weight. It simply doesn't hold any heat, which a grill needs to do. I'll be getting a plate of 4 mm steel cut to fit over the grill surface, which will hold more heat for longer, and being mild steel, will not be so likely to stick to the meat. Other than that beef, I like the design, and the portability factor. Read full review
