I’ve had one of these for years, so now I have two. I have found them great for getting that cut-without-much-force knife. This is for putting that final sharp edge on a knife. If your knife is really blunt, you will need to use a stone or something else that takes more material off. Once your get your knife fairly sharp, this will give you the edge to cut tomatos without squashing them. Only use two or three strokes each time - the diamond film is not thick - and if you need more than that, go back to your sharpening stone first.

First knife sharpener I've ever used that actually makes knives MORE blunt than they were to begin with. Very disappointed!

I was given this same knife sharpener several years ago as a gift. It was easy to use and worked well for all my knives. After many years it just wore out. It wasn't easy finding another, but this one, from Australia, is exactly like the original and works as well.
