We changed to a Breville Grill in the past because of the 2400w faster and hotter cooking. At our first use of the new (removable cooking plates model) I am impressed. I got fast heat up because of the shape of the cook plates. I got accurate cooking as the probe supplied worked well. Finally it was easy to clean and the cook plates will fit into a normal household kitchen sink. SUMMARY. It is expensive compared to other products but it has better features and I have no regrets.

Used for all sorts of cooking - meat, fish, pancakes, toasties, grilling, searing - without any fuss. It's quick and the settings are pretty good. I love the removable and easily washable elements. Two minor niggles; it won't evenly cook meat with a thick bone (ie t-bone steak) as it can't make full contact with the meat surface, and the thermostat probe seems to me to be poorly located and awkward to hold in place during storage. I believe that there is a newer model now.

Easily cleaned. Removable/replaceable hotplates clean with a simple wipe or two while still warm. They are dishwasher proof but that should never be necessary. They are also impressive for the integrated heating elements and durability. The unit drains well and in being adjustable to a wide range of heights and able to open out is extremely flexible. The heat sensor works really well (though will not likely see a lot of use here) The sensor is conveniently located on the side of the unit though a little more positive clicking into place wouldn't go astray - easily dislodged if bumped. Externally, the unit is neat, up-to-date, immediately readable/understandable, simple to operate and very easily cleaned. A touch more resistance to tipping in the direction of the top when stood up for storage may be desirable in future releases but this is a minor matter which care can easily negate.
