I was disappointed with my new TV sound quality, so decided to feed the TV sound channel into my Yamaha hi-fi system. That works fine, except that the Yamaha amp has a line level input sensitivity of 200 mV -about half of the more common 100 mV. Unfortunately, when the TV sound is adjusted to a comfortable listening level and if the Yamaha TUNER is selected, the speakers nearly jumped across the room (figuratively speaking of course). This little preamp solved the problem perfectly; adjust the gain so that both TV channel and the Yamaha TUNER input are the same level when switched from one to the other. Perfect solution! I note a previous comment about preferring the input and output sockets on the same side, from an engineering perspective it is always best to keep inputs and outputs separated as far as possible to prevent cross-talk and feedback problems.Read full review
