Really Good Fun for Kids!!
I bought these for my grandkids to play with around the house and I have to say for the price they are a great value! they are soft as the tube is foam (same as pipe insulation except white) the button battery is replaceable and it has about 4 or 5 different flash settings. One nice thing is there is no danger of broken windows or damaged furniture as these are not only soft but very light consisting of the small bottom with the battery and maybe 3 LED's and fine wires going to them in a foam tube these would make excellent party favors or something to occupy the kids when bored, in closing I highly recommend these as inexpensive entertainment not only for little ones but up to any age where these light sticks would entertain even to adults!

Looked awesome but fell apart in seconds
I bought these for glow-in-the-dark party for kids as they were foam and after just a few seconds the bottoms started falling out of them and there were teeny tiny little batteries that fell out all over which is a choking hazard and also can kill children if it's dissolved in the stomach.

The hit of the dance floor at wedding reception
I bought these to bring out part way through my daughter's wedding reception, and they were a hit! I wish I had bought more, people were using two or three. If they didn't work at first, a little persistence got them going. They lasted hours. The only "problem" was the little foam circle on the one end popped off many of them. It didn't effect their performance, but I thought I'd mention it. Even the bus drivers and caterers asked where I got them and said they never saw them before. Like I said, I wish I had bought more, they were a hit.
