Great concept
I bought this as a grandparent but unfortunately did not fully understand how it worked and had i understood it would have been much better. Apparently one is supposed to hide it and put the elf out for the child to find as if by magic an elf appears every morning, in a different location placed by the parent to make sure they are being good. Of course I just wrapped it up for a grandchild without knowing this spoiling the concept. Recommend it but understand the purpose first.

Made Christmas Special for the Kids!
Kids loved it. Liked the idea that the kids could choose his name. I felt I only had to use Elf's name & that he was watching!! to bring them into line. He made our Christmas Extra Special :) Kids were very excited to find out where he was going to turn up the next day. ( Just had to remember myself!!) Now part of our Family Tradition too. False advertising. Poor quality book
Says it’s a hard cover. Its paper thin. Photo makes it look like you are buying the hard cover book with the elf. There is no elf and nowhere does it say it’s for ‘show elf not included’. Book is of poor quality and I doubt it’s brand new. It’s crinkled. I just kissed $30 down the drain.
