Frost began, reading the book like it was a bible, this man knows how to create arts of work so deep and truthful you almost have to believe his godly power. I mean this man can create paper out of ink and make shiny sinks. Now that right there is amazing. He put its lyrics in a book fully exposed and detailed out like a can of spam. For what he did to the hip-hop game will forever change my mind on how this earth is gonna change for the very single fact of love. Jay, once said "My Achilles heal is love" So he's wanting to see everyone love each another. Personally I think hes writing his book about me for the simple fact he said "Wouldn't bust a grape in a fruit fight". I took that when he saw me in New York last night, i was actually throwing pears and peaches at him, and not one broke when i threw them.. While I have just now recieved the book, I am eagerly driven to read it ASAP based solely on the quality of Mr. Carters work in the past. Any purchase I have made of this mans art has always drawn me to do greater and better things and now in text I can only imagine it will accomplish the same. Call me biased but I can only write what MY review is, im certain it will not fall short of any of my many expectations. Great use of Worhol art on the cover as well.
I bought this for my 24 year old son who loves Jay_Z; he was so surprised that I would think of something like this on my own; He absolutely loves this book; He actually reads it every night before bed and I have never seen him read before bed before. He aspires to be a writer and he is getting a lot of insight as to how tough it is to get ahead in a competitive business like Jay-Z did..I think it is helping him understand that hard work pays off and of all the presents he received this year for Christmas, this was by far the most special and significant one to him. Thank you Jay-Z for writing such an inspirational book....from one happy mama
Jay-Z has always been a fascinating figure of mine. Whether it's his lyrics, business ventures, or personal life, his work and relationships has always peaked my curiosity. This book offers a good revelation of his thought process and how he became not just a legend in the rap community, but also as an international icon.
Interesting book but it us not written as book like the bars of a song. Beautiful pictures throughout.
